CalypsoPad – Lying Down in Elegance

The CalypsoPad is another accessory that piqued my interest, but rather than making me question whether I wanted to buy it, it make me question why people saw it as useful. This is a very very simple product that does something (or nothing) that amazes me, so I’ll keep this as simple as possible and help you see why I decided to get one and why I think it’s worth talking about.

The CalypsoPad is very simple to understand. It’s essentially a mat that you lay down and place your iPhone on when it’s charging and even when it’s not, if you prefer to have it that way. If you’re like me, you have a dock of some sort on your desk to always see your phone without worrying about the obnoxious rattling noise you hear when your phone vibrates while placed on the desk. Even after reading some reviews, I still wasn’t sold on the idea. However, all of them simply talk to you as if the product is an obvious buy for you. Only discussing the craft of it or the simplicity of its looks. However, here, it’s different: it’s introduced a use that I didn’t know I wanted or needed.

I can set my phone down on the table on the CalypsoPad and leave it be. There is a small magnetic flap to flip up solely for the dock connector and it all just looks lovely together. The simplicity of seeing the phone lying down on my desk, not having to worry about obnoxious rattles, and having it all accessible while in said positions makes this a lovely thing to have.

While I’m not sure if the CalypsoPad is necessarily for everyone, I can definitely say that it’s for me and it’s introduced a new level of ease to my desk. If you’re looking for something whose sole purpose is to be a pad for your phone to rest on, you definitely need to check out the accessory you didn’t think you’d need: the CalypsoPad.
