Nomis – The Music Release Notifier App

At Culture Milk, we all share a lot of similar traits. A love for music seems to be one of them & good design is a rather obvious one. When these come together, Culture Milk’s readers have to be notified of this. Whilst I explained why CarTunes is my favorite music player on my iPhone, that doesn’t help keep my music collection keep updated. That’s where Nomis comes in.

Nomis has long been one of my most frequently used apps on my iPhone, yet, not that many people seem to be familiar with it. The premise of Nomis is best explained by the tagline on it’s website, Nomis – The Music Release Notifier App”. Basically Nomis aims to constantly keep you updated on when any of your favorite artists (either on your iPhone/iPod or manually added) release new music on iTunes. It’s a simple premise, & as cliché as it is, Nomis just works. Upon opening the app for the first time, Nomis will scan your iPod library & add all of your artists to it’s library. It will then inform you of any new releases from your artists. It’s as simple as that. The app will have a notification badge the next time one of your artists releases anything on iTunes. Simply open the app up, click on the new Album/EP/Single & then click the purchase link to be taken to your native iTunes store. Simple.

There isn’t that much more I can say about Nomis. It has a simple, clean, eye-pleasing UI which helps compliment the overall smooth feel of the app. It also has a pretty awesome icon too!

Remember, the app has one purpose, and it does this one purpose well. If you’re an audiophile like myself, Nomis is an app that you need. You’ll never miss another release by one of the many artists on your iPod/iPhone!

If the app sounds interesting to you, check out their website where they have a lovely little demo of it in action.. Or, if you you’re already convinced, pick the app up off the App Store for a measly $1.99.
